When You Have Nothing To Say Do You Blog Anyway?
The title I have for this post may be a bit misleading; I always have something to say. However, it may not always fit the niche such as this blog, which is mostly about blogging and internet marketing.
So I pose the question, do you blog anyway when you have nothing to say? Many bloggers say you should post daily for better search engine rankings and readership. My belief is not to put up a bunch of junk just to get your blog to rank higher. I believe it may be a great way to lose visitors and to insult your readers.
I have also read that if you are struggling with things to write for your blog that perhaps you are not in the right niche. My thought on this is that many people have those “duh” days when they may have topics in mind but the brain power is just not there. So perhaps you are not in the wrong niche but you’re having a low brain function day.
There are ways I have found to get over those days and I will share a few tips with you that I use in case one of those days arises.
1. Keep pen and paper handy at all times so when an idea comes to you, you won’t forget it.
2. When you are on a roll, you are on a roll. If you are having a great writing day, filled with good post ideas and writing great pieces, keep going. Go until you run out of ideas and this way, you are able save them for that rainy day when the mind is cloudy
3. Get ideas from others, many people contact me or ask me about blogging, IM, etc. Write those down as well, they can make great posts and you never know how many people may be wondering the same thing.
These are just a few tricks I use because I do run into those duh days. I would love to hear if any of you have other tips or ideas on the subject.

Great post Jenny! I always keep pen and paper next to me, and yes I struggle with not knowing what to write about sometimes too, but I find many ways to get ideas.

All great ideas here and I have also started writing down things whenever ideas come to me so that I have something ready to go just in case.
Some days are better than others so it’s always good to be prepared. Ideas usually come to me just from thinking about what I would enjoy learning. From there I usually write down a ton of titles and later think about what kind of article would go with those titles.
Great post !!!I come across writers block very often. Sometimes I feel the “need” to write just for pure posting sake, but I hate when I do it. It’s not gratifying to me at all..

Hi Brian I have the same problem, to many blogs, I have been doing a lot of figuring which ones to dump or to keep.
Dani I have the same problem. Blogging is suppose to be fun and when I feel that need it really brings me down…..
The author of this blog made very useful suggestions on how to save blogging ideas for those days of writers block.
Actually, the beauty of regular blogs is that it’s easy to split topics into new blogs. I find that this is also the case, even when the right keyword is not found…
On the other hand, one should never be tempted to pack too much into a blog, but keep the subject very tight. That’s your blue print to have something to say every day.
