A Few Sites to Help With Online Slang Confusion

Whether you are a newbie or well-seasoned online blogger or entrepreneur it is still difficult to stay up on all the latest slang.  I am speaking specifically of internet and computer slang.

You could be trucking right along and here comes a new term, abbreviate, or a few letters in a comment and your thinking “what the heck” or something a little more verbal.  You may ignore it or decide to take the time to Google it and figure out what it meant.  Now you’re satisfied and know what it means but you won’t get back the time you took to figure it out.

Well, while I was doing just that figuring it out mentioned about I came across a few sites that may save you a bit of time in the long run:

InternetSlang – Their site states “On this site you will find a list of slang terms, acronyms and abbreviations as used in websites, ICQ chat rooms, blogs, SMS, and Internet forums – a complete dictionary of slang.”

I have browsed through it and looked up some things and so far have found it very helpful.

NoSlang – This is a cool site that has a slang dictionary, slang translator, netspeak guide, and you can also add slang if it is not found.

I have spent quite a bit of time on this site and found it to be helpful as well.

Although, I did come across other sites I found these two to be the most beneficial.  Check them out and let me know what you think.  Hopefully, they will save you and me a nice amount of time.

    Thanks for sharing those links. Frankly, I’m having trouble understanding some slang, I have to look their meaning on Google. :-)
