Follow the Leaders – But Not To Close

I originally wanted to write this as an ode to my mentors but then I realized a few things along the way and changed the vibe. I have many mentors but there are a few I follow closely due to their great content and helpful nature.

The first of these mentors is Holly Mann of Honest Holly. Holly has taught me what I needed to know to start generating an income online.

Second, is Davin Ogden of The Viral Sanctuary. Davin goes in to great detail about viral marketing. Both Holly and Davin have answered my emails personally, despite their busy schedules.

Third, is Anna Vera Williams of Building from Nothing. I just started to follow Anna’s blog in the past few months faithfully not only for her great content but also her artistic nature.

And finally Joe (I don’t even know Joe’s last name… lol) of ImwithJoe. Joe’s blog delves into personality marketing and does he have a great personality? …….. Darn right he does.

I have followed these blogs for awhile and they have provided me with some great tips and information. So why do I say “but not too close?”

When you create your own blog you want it to have your personality. You may find if you follow certain blogs for so long that you may accidentally or even intentionally create an exact copy of what you are reading. Blogs that stand apart from the rest are those with the authors’s own personality and style. All of the authors above have their own specialties and you can see these traits throughout their writings. Making your blog your own, with your own attitude and writing style will make your blog stand out and in turn attract readers.
